St. Thomas' Episcopal Church

            Policy of St. Thomas' regarding Distribution of Mission Funds
Funds allocated in the budget of St. Thomas' for Mission are intended to enable the congregation to be engaged in ministries that will enhance the vitality of the parish, while meeting the goals and objectives established for the parish by the Council for Ministries in any given year. Such funds are not intended to be passed through to a charity or other organization outside the Episcopal Church for any project in which there is not direct, active, volunteer participation by members of the parish, nor are such funds intended for the general operations of any organization outside the Episcopal Church.
Therefore, be it Resolved that:
Funds budgeted by St. Thomas' Vestry fro Mission may not be distributed by the Mission Ministry or Council of Ministries:
(1) to any not-for-profit organization or other charity (except an organization, diocese or parish within the Episcopal Church / Anglican Communion) unless a member of St. Thomas' is actively engaged in a project or enterprise within that organization to which the funds will be directly applied:
(2) for salaries or for any other ongoing operational expense of any such organization or charity, or to any endowment or capital fund of the same; or
(3) as salary or compensation for any member of St. Thomas'.
