The Youth Steering Committee of St. Thomas' meets monthly and is the primary decision making body, which prays for our youth, sets the calendar and coordinates events. The committee is comprised of youth and adults, collaborating to offer experiences for our youth that provide fun, fellowship, and service within a Christian context, while building and strengthening connections to God, one another, and parish adults.
There are two "Young People" groups at St. Thomas' that include YPF (Young People's Fellowship, grades 9-12) and JYPF (Junior Young People's Fellowship, grades 6-8). These groups:
Volunteer for service projects (Cameron Community Ministries and the Episcopal Church Home, etc. )
Have fun (indoor rock climbing, movie day, breakfast, go-carting, the 'Amazing Maze Maize')
Raise funds for causes we love (Habitat for Humanity, etc...)
The more parental involvement the better and the Youth Steering Committee is always looking for drivers and chaperones. Keep in mind, each youth must have an up-to-date signed medical release form and behavioral contract on file in the church office. In addition, each adult participant is required to have completed the diocesan safe chuch training.
